Student living - When you come to Rochester as a graduate or other student you need to live in an environment conducive to accomplishing your goals - a study friendly milieu, close to the Medical Center or Campus, in a house that has been remodeled with the busy, high achieving student in mind.
Remodeling - These house have all been remodeled specifically for student living. The accommodation needs of a student is in many way different from a single family for which these homes were originally built.
Bathrooms and hot water tanks - Additional bathrooms and extra hot water tanks have been installed. This allows all students to take long showers simultaneously without running out of hot water.
High Achieving Busy Students - A group of students has different needs than a single family. Many rooms in our houses have private bathrooms directly connected to the students' bedroom, kitchens have been enlarged, dish washers installed in every house, walls have been removed, additional fridges, washers and dryers have been installed. Electrical services have been upgraded to accomondate all the electronic gears of today's students, bath rooms have been added, interior design has been focused on quality and low maintenance. Optimal parking has be designed for each student.
Sound insulation - Some rooms have even been specifically sound insulated from neighboring rooms and the rest of the house to create an optimal study environment.
Keyless entrance - Every student room has been equipped with a keypad lock allowing rapid and safe key less entrance. Entrance is based on an individual 6 digit code that can easily be changed. New codes are set for each new student.
Efficient keyless entrance on outside door - All houses have the same keyless entry system on the side door making it easy and safe to get in and out.
Furnished common areas - All our houses have fully furnished common areas. A busy student does not want to aquire furniture for common areas, does not want to carry sofas, tables, chairs rugs and lamps in and out. The furniture in common areas should be there ready to use and should not have to take time away from studies and other more important student duties. You move into your room and the rest of the house is fully furnished.
Simplicity - Everything has been geared towards simplyfing the life for the high achieving student. Close location, easy parking, lots of fridge spaces, low maintenance and a good study environment.
Kitchen - Large kitchen is a must when you are living four students together in one home. All our kitchens has been remodelled and enlarged as much as possible.
Two fridges -All homes have at least two fridges to accomondate the need of four students. A family can get by with one jug of milk, but four students might have four - and four juice containers! All this should fit in the fridge.
Large -The largest kitchen is in our 89 Crittenden Boulevard home with a large u-shaped granite counter top for maximal space. Kitchen standard need to be from the last few years to meet the need of todays busy students.
Parking - Our houses have plenty of parking space. In general the parking areas are designed to give each student a personal designated parking spot. This way each student can get in and out without having to move any other car.
Parking is at premium in the Upper White Coat Ghetto since street parking is prohibited and is strictly reinforced.
Repairs and Maintenance - We have a team of contractors available for maintenance and repairs. These contractors have been working with us for several years and knows our houses in and out. If anything breaks or malfunctions in a home we are usually there to check it out the same day. Repairs are done immediatly and on the same day if at all possible.
